I've learned the stuff about the compass and the magnet but i need more then that to convince me.

Put a big magnet on the table, then a flat sheet of paper, then pour some iron filings on it. Presto...fields.

Place the magnet on a table. Place a sheet of white paper on top of the magnet. Now sprinkle metal filings from 12 to 18 inches over the paper. Viola!!!

go down a plastic slide on a windy day and feel the static shock you.and watch hair get lifted and attach itself to the slide.

sprinkle some metal shavings(dust) onto a piece of paper and hold a magnet underneath the paper....the pole pattern will show.....
