You can pay with Cash, check, Money order, paypal, credit card, or even Google's payment system. It all depends on what the seller accepts.

I sell used trains and toys, and 60 percent of my buyers send checks and money orders, while 40 percent use Paypal.

If you scroll to the bottom of an auction listing - just above the lower bid box, you'll find "Payment methods accepted." Most sellers will fill that out, but others will included the information in the description.

You should not pay with a wire transfer through western union. Actually, except for when you are dealing with German sellers you should avoid any type of electronic bank transfer.

Before you pay, you should research the seller a bit. Check feedback, and listen to your gut. If it seems like a scam it probably is. I don't know what you are looking to buy, but whatever it is you are likely to find more listed on ebay.

Due to all the crap going on NOW on payments.. etc and thieves, I would use Paypal only.. paypal.com...with them, you will have to fill out some information.. give them a credit card number and also a bank account number(and routing).. I was on the cautious side and not that I did not trust them but I did not trust them so I opened a separate bank account JUST for ebay stuff.

Depends on the seller. Some only except PayPal, which is an automatic deduction from either your checking account or credit card. I usually pay by money order because know one has access to my accounts.

Seller's accept different types of payments. The most common a safest is Paypal. The next would be sending a money order. Just don't send cash.

Paypal gets it to you the quickest, especially if you open an account and transfer money into it. It's just like money in the bank, but it pays over 5% dividends too.

PayPal is fine so long as you know how to keep them from stealing your money. Check out http://ebaysuspension.ezguidebooks.com for more information about this; I found that site a few months ago and it's saved me thousands of dollars.
