First of all, I'm no homophobe and I understand that we all have our own sexual preferences.
I ,instead, am a Heterosexual woman (by choice) who would be hurt if I were to fall in love with a man whom I didnt know was actually gay.
What signs would I be looking for?

What do you mean, you're a "heterosexual woman (by choice)?" Cuz the implication there is that you have lesbian tendencies which you choose not to act on.
As for the question, it's true that there's no sure-fire way to tell, as many people have noted; but most of the gay boys I know personally are quite evidently "gay" in that they have certain feminine characteristics, etc. I think we all know the stereotype. And sure, there are lots of gay guys who just act like guys, and you'd never know unless they told you - but the exceptions prove the rule. It's "completely false" that ALL gay guys are "pink and fluffy," but it's certainly true that a LOT of them are.

I'm sorry about the jokes, but the simple truth is there is no way to tell. For those who haven't read any of my answers in here, that was sarcasm, not insults. Anyone who says otherwise is use to the stereotypical homosexual, or totally full of it. The best way to know is to be totally honest with him, and ask him point blank. All the garbage people are slinging about what to look for is a load of crap, and it don't work. I'm a straight man, but i do have several gay friends. At least two of them I'd never guess were gay if they hadn't simply told me so. My gf was shocked to find out one of the toughest, he type guys in our friends circle was pure gay. She was also more than shocked to find out one of the most limp-wristed, lisping effete guys around is straight and homophobic.Honesty is always the best policy, so be honest and let them know you expect nothing less in return.

I'm assuming you're including bi in there too, otherwise it would be pretty obvious that if he likes you, he isn't gay.
Hrm, there's no definitive answer on that. It's completely false that all gay guys are pink and fluffy, it's impossible to tell just by looking at someone. Long and short of it all, you'll have to ask him, albeit carefully since it's pretty easy to get offended by a question like that. And remember that people coming out often respond with outright homophobia and a determination to 'be straight', so it's pretty hard to know.

That he has sex with men other than that there are no real signs. there are many straight men who portray "gay" characteristics. Like in interest in the arts etc. It isn't like we have tattoos on our foreheads.
If you are dating someone who is closeted (maybe even from himself) then you are just going to go with your gut influence.
I will say that one tell tale sign is how he looks at men vs. women. When we see someone we find sexually attractive, it is usually an unconscious reaction. If you catch him checking out men more than women then there may be cause for concern, but even that can just be curiosity.

Are there really signs that reveal whether or not a person is Gay?? I don't think so. I have several male friends that are gay, but you wouldn't know it unless you asked them. Just down right ask them.

well i always look for the flashing sign on their forehead... no seriously there are no outward signs we are just like everyone else.. if he's gay he will let you know he's not interested. so don't worry if you find someone you like test the waters

They are not really wanting sex anymore (from you).
They seem distant.
They treat you more as a friend than a lover (of course then they might only have platonic feelings for you gay or not.)
