What can I expect?

I have been a secretary for about 2 1/2 years in a small business, and got a job offer to be a medical assistant for a family practice doctor. It's a really big change and was just wondering what I can expect, and how I might be able to apply what I've learned at my current job to my new one. I know that there's not going to be a lower amount of stress, but what do I need to do to prepare? I have no medical experiance at all. Thanks for you opinions!
