ok, I have to write a speech on the thesis "freezing to death is better than burning to death." However, we have to back up our speech with research. Like for example finding out what actually happens to your body when you freeze to death, what happens to you when you are burning to death, can you actually feel your flesh burning away whileyou are still alive. Stuff like that.

If you can't find anything about this topic at all, then could you suggest a new topic? Otherwise, I guess it's up to me. I am still looking for stuff too. Don't think I'm bumming off my homework on you guys. I just need a helping hand so I can cover more ground so to speak. Anyway, thanks for any help possible!

There is a book and a film called 'Touching the Void' by Joe Simpson. It is about climbers, one of whom nearly died in freezing conditions. Also I have seen documentary films about climbers who died on Mt Everest. It seems that as you get colder your brain gets sluggish, it is not painful and people who have recovered from near death hypothermia (excess cold) say that it is just like falling asleep. They were not afraid once they got really cold and did not feel anything. Getting warm again is painful!
I suspect that freezing to death is easier than burning where you would be very afraid and would feel pain until the deeper level of skin containing nerve endings burnt. In the meantime you would smell your own flesh burning.

That is like saying what is better wet stool or dry stool. Either way it is stool. Actually the topic should be- How to stop The repeated cycle of Birth, Death, Old age and disease all together. (Reincarnation)The point is death is death, death is coming to every living being. The question is How to stop death all together? The process recommended for this age is the chanting of the Maha Mantra (The Great Mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion.) Go to harekrishna. for complete details. The illusion is we think we are these bodies, minds, jobs, intelligence, etc. We are not this- we are eternal spirit soul part and parcel of the Supreme Soul. We do no die only the body dies and we go on to our next destination. We should stop this cycle though. The Goal is to get out if illusion and come to reality of our constitutional piston. I see your nick name if you are actually intelligent then read Bhagavad-Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. Good luck.

i would think burning would be slightly better as it burns your nerve endings off. so if you had really deep burns you would not feel a thing.

freezing to death, if you were in the north pole you would die of hypothermia. to me this seems to be alot slower and probably more painful!

But you are bumming off your homework on us. You expect us to do the research. And it is too easy to find. Quit the laziness & whining & get your *** to work.

Pour some gasoline on one arm, set it on fire and take notes.
Put your other arm in a bin of dry ice for an hour and take notes.
Have fun.
