There were many diferent peoples who emerged out of Central Asia during the time period known as the Middle Ages in Europe. Some of the most prominent are the Mongols, Seljuk Turks, and Ottoman Turks. All three of these groups emerged from the steppes of Central Asia and were very accomplished conquerors.

The Mongols are most likely the group about which you are asking. They conquered an empire that stretched from Korea to Eastern Europe, the largest contiguous land empire ever, including China, Russia, and a large portion of the Middle East. The most notable leaders of the Mongols were Gehngis Kahn, who started their expansion, and Kublai Kahn who conquered China and founded his own dynasty (This was the dynasty that Marco Polo visited on his journey to China).

The Seljuk Turks conquered most of the Middle East and parts of Asia Minor, present day Turkey. The Ottoman Turks came along later conquered all of the Seljuk territories. Then toppled what remained of the Byzantine Empire by capturing Constantinople, today called Istanbul. They also moved into the Balkans and attacked into Europe as far as Vienna, where they were defeated by an alliance of Polish, Austrian and German armies.

Probably "Huns" although they were the most active in the early middle ages, near the end of the Roman empire (500-700 AD).

There were a lot of names for different groups in "central asia" (which is a huge area) -- can you be more specific?
