Pure acetone, you can usually find it with nail polish remover.
1. Pour it directly on the nail polish so it is completely soaked, keep it wet for five minutes so it breaks down all the polish.

2. If you have carpet steamer or wet-vac run it over the spot.

Repeat till gone!!

If you don't have a steamer or wet-vac, gently dab it with cotton balls (or an old towel that you don't mind ruining) until dry, if it's not all gone, repeat

hint: you may want to spot check color fastness of your carpet before pouring on the acetone

Ethyl Acetate or Acetone work well. Both may be found in Nail Polish Removers.

ok ive done this before .. i spilled a half a bottle of pink fingernail polish on beige carpet and heres what you do to get it completely out .. get some hairspray and soak the fingernail polish.. and wipe and soak and wipe and it may take two cans of hairspray and it may take an hour of soaking and wiping but i got it out of my carpet .. the carpet will be hard when it drys so put some warm soapy water in a spray bottle and do the same thing till the hair spray is gone .. good luck.

I had this problem, Carborator cleaner took it right out. It works on a lot of things, like oil in carpeting and nasty stains on clothes. Hope this helps.

Try using a little acetone ,don't rub it just dab it on there as sometimes it will stain if the carpet is dark.

You won't! Suggestion cut the stain out in a square shape, find a small area in the closet and cut out an identical piece and switch them putting them down with a glue that doesn't set up hard.
