If you are in the UK call NHS direct just to put your mind at ease...

If not call a medical help line, just to make sure you and the babe are ok

At this stage in your pregnancy, your womb is starting to stretch with the growth of your baby. This can be uncomfortable, and (I'm assuming this is your first pregnancy) worrying. If you have no other symptoms, such as spotting blood, or other pains, I'd be inclined not to worry about this. I had the same with my first one, (17 years ago now!) but I also know how concerned you can get with anything you're not sure about. If you ARE worried, call NHS Direct on 08454647, they won't mind you asking, even if it is nothing.

I hope all goes well for you =)

Could be round ligament pain? This usually starts in the second trimester (after 12 weeks) and can cause sharp stabbing pains.

It's probably nothing to worry about as long as there is no bleeding or the pains are not regular like contractions or get stronger. If you're worried at all see your midwife or GP or call NHS Direct 0845 4647.

I am 14 weeks today and I think I posted the same question a few times last week. After MUCH concern I found out it was just my uterus stretching. BUT my doctor did check to make sure I wasn't thinning and dilating to early. Make sure you let your doctor know but don't stress it. Also if there is ANY bleeding you need to call the doc right away. Good luck and Congrats!!

I got this same thing with my first pregnancy. The doctor told me it was round ligament pains. It does feel like you have been laughing for hours. The doctor told me that it is normal. If you are still concerned call your doctor and ask them about it to ease your mind. Good luck!
