I just bought a home and i'm doing some outside work. In the front of my home there are two big flowering bushes that do not want to pull up by a come-a-long or by chain and a truck. I'm looking for any answers to how i can kill these bushes because they look awful!! I have no clue what they are, they have a tough root system and tough branches. Any help would be great!!!

I'd recommend you go to your local hardware store and purchase a product that contains the active ingredient; "Triclopyr". It is very good at killing bushes such as the one you described. It's sold as "Brush-Killer" or "Brush-B-Gone" and is much stronger than Roundup...although it works in the same manner.

Simply mix according to directions and apply it to the entire bush by using a sprayer or cut the brush and use a paint brush to the cut surfaces. IF you do the latter method, make sure you apply the Triclopyr within 10 minutes after cutting otherwise the plant will not take the product into the root system. Try mixing in a few drops of dish soap to insure better penetration into the cut surfaces or onto the bush.

Be careful you don't have apply the product on windy days or you have any ornamental shrubs nearby. The product will not harm lawns and will also kill broadleaved weeds.

Hope this information was of help. GOOD LUCK!

either take it apart branch by branch or buy an ax and start chopping on its roots. then again u can call a gardener and have em do the work. You can also get a Herbicide named Tordon RTU at ur local plant store. This is a bush killer and will wilt the bush eventually making it die

if you havent torn them up too much, you can call the local nursery and see if they want them. they will bring out a back hoe and replace the plant with good dirt.. OR You can cut them down to ground level, then; get trash cans bigger arround than the bush fill them with mixed leaves and grass clippings. turn one up-side down over each bush and weigh it down with rocks or bricks. leave them covered thru spring. If it is too big for that, just make a mulch pile and cover it with black plastic, then; weigh it down through spring and summer
