People often take for granted the pure animal instincts regarding survival and defense, until pushed to extremes. Then our basic primal nature can arise, reminding us of our mortality and how far we would go, like a wild animal, to fight to survive.
The pun in the title refers to both the danger in the "game" played in the story, and also to man in general, as the "game" being hunted, as the most dangerous of all.
