I saw one last night on my way home with my boyfriend and it was pretty cool. Does anyone of you ever made a wish on a shooting star and actually came true?

A shooting star is simply a piece of matter traveling through Earth's atmosphere and burning up due to friction. It's fun to wish upon a star (shooting or otherwise) but, even if the wish comes true, it's not because of a shooting star.

No. I once wished on a shooting star that I would become the world's richest person by the age of 20.... Well I'm 21 now and I'm just an unemployed college student. That star was full of %#$&.

Do I believe in shooting stars? Yes, I've seen meteors. Do I believe that seeing a grain of sand burning up in Earth's atmosphere means that my wishes will come true? No.

My most esteemed madam,
While there are different schools of thought on this subject, I would have to say that I do not. It is infinitely more humane to trap them in a box with a piece of string tied to a supporting stick. All you need to do is pull on the string and BINGO!!You've got him!!

The question is : what are you going to do with him? They do not make good pets, and usually don't do well unless you have a really , really big yard for them to romp and gambol about in.

My advice to you is to just not molest them at all..

You are most welcome.
