My favourite book is Ask the Dust by John Fante.
The reason I like it so much is because the characters are so engaging, funny, stupid, and I completely identify with every single one of them
The book's also brilliantly edited.
No wasted words.

My favourite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, (or Truman Capote if you buy that theory).
3 reasons you should read this are: It is beautifully written and captures the essence of the South. The characters are vivildly written and the reader witnesses the children finding out harsh realities about human nature and the unfairness of prejudice and rasicm and how this changes them. It is also a recognised "classic" which was a forerunner of challenging the issue of race, and the themes are still very relevant to todays society.

The Holy Bible: Basis Instruction Before Leaving Earth. It is essential because it is the book of life and instructs on how to get saved and remain saved from sin and satan. It has done so much for me. It strengthen my faith, gave me a blessed peace, joy, hope and assurance.
The bible lets me know that it is all about Jesus Christ: the truth, life and only way to heaven.

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It is a fascinating novel about a guy who thinks he's above the law (Very Neitzchian - Ubermensch), it makes you look at your own morality, and it helped to introduce existentialism, at least in Russian Literature.
You can find it at any bookstore.
Things it did for me? It gave me some crazy dreams when I was reading it.

3. and its full of paradox..
