That's exactly what the businesses want you to believe--that everyone is buying lots of things for Christmas as soon as it is available. Buy as much or as few gifts as you want whenever you want, despite the commercials, other advertisements, and store displays. Just because it's a good deal, it doesn't mean the other person will like your gift.

It's about the economy. Black October starts after Thanksgiving. People went to beat the crowds before the latest products are out of stock, like Playstation 3, or the newest Tickle Me Elmo. A lot of things are sale up until the last minute on Christmas Eve. And some people shop early too.

Why do so many people say that putting out christmas stuff early is forgetting about Halloween and Thanksgiving, yet, they do not forget about them?
I assume a person like yourself does not live on a budget. You are either a kid that does not have to worry about making money and paying bills or you have alway had a silver spoon in your mouth. Some people that live on budgets like to spread their christmas expenses out over several months. Stores have recognized this and made it easier for consumers to do so.

There is only so far they can take it. People wont buy Christmas stuff all year round, at least not enough to justify selling it and since selling it all year is as far as they can go it has to end somewhere. Unfortunately they sell Christmas stuff so early that the whole commercial aspect of the season can't be avoided.

Oh it is the same here in Australia but we don't have Halloween or thanksgiving. Every time I need to get stuff at the city in December is going on a shopping exercise worse than death. I just feel like putting an axe in peoples heads......

My opinion only here..It will get worse..It is to commercialize now.
Seems to me, the world has forgotten what Christmas is suppose to be like.
It is suppose to be about Jesus Birthday. Not how much money the world can make.....

It is consumer driven. If you are a consumer than you are as responsible as anyone for what is happening. You don't have to take part.
