I have to leave George Mason University in Fairfax for a report in Towson University in Towson, Maryland but I have no idea how to get there. I can only use public transportation.

GMU has CUE buses that link it to Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail station.
to go between DC and Baltimore you can either.
1. take the MARC train from DC union to Balt. Penn station (during the week)
2. take the Metro to the Greenbelt metro station (green line in Maryland) and catch a bus to BWI airport from there. From BWI you can catch light rail in to the city (this is a better weekend/cheap option).
Towson is linked by bus and lightrail, see the top link below to sort out how to reach Towson campus once in Bmore.
