The higher the power in watts the more visible the laser light, smoke is good for defusing the light and with powerful night club laser you can certainly see them. You need a 3a class and above to see it.

no...to see the beam well and depending on your definition of "well".. you'd need a class 3a 50mW...... the visiblity comes with the wattage. I think the ones you see at a laser show are up to 100W or greater..if I'm wrong someone will come along and correct me.
