Does anyone think this could be the match up in 2008?

The best match up on the republicans side would be guiliani and powell
On the democrats it would be Clinton and Lieberman

from outside america looking in then yes - but only if it's true that hilary clinton is too hated to win a general election. From what i hear in terms of 08 coverage Obama to be VP because he's too inexperienced to go for Pres just yet and Giuliani maybe as VP if mccain can convince the right of the republicans that he's their guy.

Unlikely.
McCain is to much a maverick for Republican primary voters. I don't think Edwards has a base, certainly not a very big 1.

Mcain won't last a week in the primaries. RINO all the way.(republican in name only) I think it's more likely to be Comrade Hilary Clinton vs Mitt Romney.(Though don't rule out Biden and Liberman.)

Hillary or Obama vs. Romney seems more likely to me
