It depends on what age level these elementary students are. Every student is different. A lot of boys lean more towards non-fiction (fact) books but others prefer fantasy/science fiction. Many girls lean to books with fairy tale characters or similar themes but others like reading from series. Magic Tree house is popular with grades 1-3
To find the best bet for your kids/students let them pick out several favourites from the classroom library (or public if you're a parent) to see what kinds these ones prefer. Discover together other books in these genres. Encourage excitement whenever they find something they love. Any reading is fine, as long as THEY ARE READING!

There are many good fiction books. Many elementary students read and enjoy The Bridge to Terabithia, the Chronicles of Narnia, and Tuck Everlasting.

Well have the read a series of unfortunate events books or maybe harry potter those are my favorite and im in 6th grade
