You kinda just have to go with the flow. You'll learn every first timer goes through this all you have to do is listen to your baby. Eventually you'll learn what works and what doesn't. Every baby is different be patient and loving and the rest just comes naturally.

Im a mum of 3, the youngest 12wks, and Im still learning! Here are two things that I have only just learnt, that I wish that I knew about 8 yrs ago when we had bub no 1.

Firstly, take your bub to a chiropractor. Sounds weird I know, but its a must for all bubs. Find one that works on babies, dont freak, they are very gentle. Most babies are born with problems (pelvis, neck, collarbone) or it can happen due to the position they are in, in the womb.

Not only does this cause immense pain = constant crying, this also affects the nerves in that area, affecting the bladder/bowel, reflux. A sore neck causes breast feeding problems, sore back leads to constant screams and no sleep. It isnt true that babies are suppose to cry for hours every day, my chiropractor states newborn babies should be doing three things: eat, sleep and poo. If they are crying its for a reason.

The most common complaint that people have is that bub is asleep, cradled in your arms, then when you put her in her bed, she wakes up screaming. This was explained to me, when you are nursing her in that position, you are supporting her back, when you lay her in her bed, she squirms and feels the pain as she is no longer getting that support.

I only found out about this 5wks ago, when my bub was 7wks. She has now been sleeping 8-10 hrs a night (without waking) for the past 2 wks straight. She is seeing the chiro once a week. This is a baby that was going 20 hrs without sleep, constant screams. Couldnt put her down to lay anywhere, cot, car seat, pram, the only place she didnt scream was in our arms.

Babies can also develop problems as they grow, sitting up, walking, etc. Infact, I have taken my oldest two 8yrs and 5yrs, and have finally conquered the bedwetting. Neither have ever been dry, we had even tried the bed wetting mat, I thought that they will never have dry nights. Both of their pelvises were out (affecting the nerves to the bladder) and also their necks. So now I know when it comes to toilet training this time round, if there is any problems, back to the chiropractor.

My second tip is to go to the website www.dunstanbaby.com this is an aussie lady who has deciphered all the different baby cries. This is something you will work out yourself in time, but a fantastic tool for new parents, to get a heads up is invaluable. Anything that helps is great I think. There was a tv show in oz about it, and I wish that I had seen it yrs ago, even a few months ago, it saves those first few months of figuring out exactly what it is that's upsetting your baby.

Congratulations on your little one. Babies are just the best gift!!

And don't forget to enjoy as they grow up so fast!!

first of all congragulations... also be patient and understanding and love her with all you body, sould and heart. also remember that you are her parents and you are suppost to take away everything. you take away her hunger and her dirty diapers... so when thoughs cries come just be patient becuase you can't take away everything... and always remember you are very lucky to have this little angel in your lives and your own little family... some people don't get that....
