Now that the holidays are here, I want to be fair. (And it is NOT mandated by the restaurant- we tip $2 a day at lunch, then the bus gets an hourly rate)

I always went with 15%. The dollar amount between 10 and 15% isn't that substantial, but it means a lot to the bus person. I always found that if you can keep your bus person happy, you will give outstanding service because it's important to them to work with you instead of goofing off. There is a cash reward for doing a good job. As for the holidays, I often gave them more than 15% as a special gesture of "a job well done". I also told them I couldn't have done it without them and you would not believe the production I got out of them. We were a team.
