Best results would be just change the food, cook healthier, get cooking receipt from weight-watchers, without even making a big deal about it, and you can never target on just him or he will really react with a negative response, so both or all the family should get in it with him, and pray together...ask him out for a walk, or go to the mall...bowling or golf, swimming, horseback riding..etc..good luck

Don't say "damn your fat and i think you need to lose weight", but be honest, try telling him you want for both of you to try eating healthier. Or start making healthier food when you cook. Bake instead of frying, try to keep him away from sugar. Go for walks instead of driving. That sort of thing.

Buy him a smaller pair of pants than he's use to wearing, when he tries them on and they won't fit, make the comment that he's a little bigger than he use to be. That could be used as a icebreaker to go into more in depth conversation about how you feel about it
