It's good to give you diarrhea, it may or may not start labor. It works by stimulating the bowels which can also start contractions. Is there a reason you want to induce three weeks early? If so, talk to your doctor, there are better ways than castor oil.

NO!!! castor oil has extreme effects. It could cause damage and more than likely it will not put you into labor. you may feel like you are in labor due to the cramping caused by the castor oil, but to put it bluntly, it is just severe diarreha cramps. Try walking or having sex to induce labor. Something natural. But you are only 37 weeks, why can't you just wait 3 more weeks?

Your Dr. will tell you never use castor oil. It can do more damage then good by making you need to use the bathroom more and get you dehydrated which can harm your baby. Do not use it!

It is a old wives tale and all it does is make you feel like crap while still waiting to go into labor.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! My friend did that and was in such excrutiating abdominal pain and puking it was not funny! I would not recommend it! Try nipple stimulation or sexual intercourse!
