and I just went to the bathroom and noticed blood on the toilet paper. The only thing is is the blood smear is coming from the outside of my privates not from the inside. What is going on?

Don't panic. If the blood is from the outside, and not flowing from the cervix, the chances are you've just got a scratch/nick from something and its nothing to worry about. If you're that concerned, are having any pain (back/stomach/cervical) or are suffering any other symptoms I'd call NHS direct immediately on 08454647, but otherwise, I'd just rest (to be on the safe side) no lifting, or strenuous exercise and call the midwife tomorrow if its still continuing. Also call NHS direct if it gets any worse.

Dont panic, when you are pregnant all mad things happen everywhere and your bits are no exception, I reckon you have wiped yourself a bit too hard and you have a small graze! Stand over a mirror and have a look or get your fella to have a look, he will see it all when you are in labour anyway so dont be embarrased!! If you and him cant see anything then it may be coming from the inside, this is no cause for panic either, this is really common in first trimester of pregnancy, it happened in all three of my pregnancies, I got really painful cramps too and still went on to have three perfect pregnancies and three perfect babbas! If you still see blood in the morning, go and see your Doc! Good luck chicken, loadsa love to you and babs and take it eeeeaaasssyyy!! XX

Are you sure you know where the blood is coming from? It might be an idea to go to your doctor and get it checked out. The only thing I can think of is maybe you've scratched yourself somehow?

Are you absolutely sure that it's coming from outside, not inside? And when you say "privates", do you mean around your vulva, or around your anus? If it's coming from your anus it could be an anal fissure - have you been constipated at all?
If it's from your back passage, don't worry too much but get it checked out with your GP if it continues. If there's any chance that it's coming from your vagina, get medical attention at once to check that the pregnancy's all OK.

It may appear to be on the outside but if there's no cut or anything there then it came from somewhere else! Spotting in early pregnancy is common but could be a sign of a miscarriage. If it happens again or if you get a snotty discharge go to your docs

i doubt it is from the outside. sometimes u spot during pregancy if u start loading the pads with blood u are probably having a miscarriage and will need a dnc dont panic just call your doctor if the bleeding becomes heavy like a period

I had a bleed with my last baby at 12 weeks, It turned out to be a clot next to the amniotic sac-
She's now 18 months old.
Get it checked out as soon as but I'm sure it's fine
I was pi*sing blood with her.

some women bleed or spot when they are pregnant, if their is no cramping you should be ok. But if there is heavy bleeding and cramping go to ER. Little blood is ok dont panic. good luck with the pregnancy, sounds you"ll be a good mom.

did it sting at all when you peed? you coud have a water infection or did it come from the other end? so long as it's not coming from your privates don't worry about the baby but i would go to the doctor to check urine sample xx good luck with the pregnancy

It could have been a small spot or perhaps your nail scratched you as your wiped yourself. If in doubt have your nurse check you over to ease your mind :) Good Luck with the baby !
