i totaly forget how to combine like terms, its worse then it seems, i need to do this homework because my dads always on my *** about things im like for real about to cry bcv i dunno how to do it and all the sites i go to dont help...well heres some of what i have to do....

7y=2y-15

9x=2x+15

99+6u=-3u

13d+25=8d

7u-2u=3u+22

17p+p=40-2p

2m-21=9m+7

18n+12=27n+3

15b-8=31b+24

3(z+5)=8z

5(4-7u)= -u-48

7(3-u)+u=5-2u

5(1+c)=6(2+c)

5(x+7)=6(x-5)

6(2x-1)= -5(3x-15)

THANK YOU

okay to combine like terms just add or subtract the things with the same "letter"
for example for 7y=2y-15 you wud subtract 2y from both sides of equation and make it 7y - 2y = - 15
then u do 5y=15
and divide both sides by 5
and ur answer is y=3

9x=2x + 15 ( same method) start by subtracting 2x from both sides
7x=15
x=15/7

99+6u=3u
-3u=99
u=-22

13d + 25 = 8d
25 = -7d
d=-7/25

7u-2u=3u+22
2u=22
u=11

17p+p=40-2p
20p=40
p=2

2m-21=9m+7
-7m=28
m= -4

18n+12=27n+3
9=9n
n=1

15b-8=31b+24
-16b=32
b=-2

3(z+5)=8z
3z + 15 = 8z
15 = 5z
z=3

5(4-7u)= -u-48
20 - 35u = -u - 48
34u = 28
u=28/34

i think u can do the rest on ur own now...
Good luck and don't worry - i think ur dad's just trying to help u coz he worries abt u and if he does get annoying then maybe u shud tell him how u feel and he might understand - u cud also ask him for help and just say that ur having a bad day and u cant quite remember wat ur supposed to do with like terms....

Hope this helps!!

You want to isolate the variable and then subtract the Number from the variable from the number on the opposite side of the equal sign.

example- 7y+=2y-15 so you would change that to 5y=-15 and then divide 5 from both sides to get y=-3.
