I was an Eglish teacher for 12 years and think I may be able to help you with this one.

1. Opening paragraph (introduce your topic, give basic details, and present your purpose for this essay) The last sentence should be your 3 part thesis which will lead the rest of your paper (ie: Marilyn Monroe has affected American culture in many ways including, ______(1)_________, _____(2)__________, and _______(3)________.

2. You now have at least 3 body paragraphs (how long is your research paper to be?):
First part of your thesis statement is discussed and provide examples. This may take one to many paragraphs

3. second part of your thesis is discussed and provide examples here. This may take one to many paragraphs

4. third part of your thesis is discussed and provide examples here. This, again, will take one to many paragraphs.

5. Concuding paragraph Do not add any "new" information in this final paragraph! This is to sum up your discussion and provide the summation of your proof as to how MM affected American culture.

depending on how long your paper is:
1st paragraph..a little bio on M.Manroe and her start to stardum.
Next paragraph..describe three to four major issues (ways that M. Monroe impacted the United States)
the next three to four paragraphs should be that of the issues (in each paragraph describe the separate issue.
Then you write the conclusion..what you thought and once again gathering all of the information together and making a major point..
then is the bibliography page.

You sound like me!! Trust me, it does not get any better once you are in college. Research papers are designed with a specific format. Paragraph one is your thesis paragraph--assert that MM in fact has had a tremendous influence on the country--then state how. Para 2--biographical data on MM. Para 3--her rise to modeling, movies & stardom. Para 4--etc. The next to the last paragraph should include modern influences--Elton John's "Good Bye, Norma Jean", tie-ins to Clinton's affair in the White House, etc. Last paragragh sums up the first paragraph. Good luck with it.

Outline it to organize it.

1. State a summary of what you think her impact is.
2 Write several paragraphs, each explaining one aspect of her impact.
3. Write a conclusion
4. Make a bibliography
