do i think vince young will be an outstanding qb soon? course i do. he'll be tougher to defend than manning (peyton, not eli). but no one should praise rookie qb's yet, it is WAY too early to tell and get a clear idea. all the rookies haven't even had one full season yet. those fourth quarter comebacks will be his trademark, but he still has much to learn in terms of development as QB. i'm a huge vince young fan ever since that rose bowl game, but in terms of development, i hate to say it, but that leinart guy from arizona is more developed than he is and adjusted better so far. young needs to learn to read the defenses, blitzes, and coverages soon. and that's where he is behind compared to the former usc golden boy. but you know...i wouldn't be suprised if i saw both Leinart and Young playing in the Pro Bowl one day. and jay cutler too.

I agree, I think that Leinart is more developed, but Young is definitely the QB of the future.

Vince Young reminds me too much of Michael Vick. Not necessarily with style but the numbers he puts in the stat book. Some games he will look like a super hero and other games will be very human. I really respect Jeff Fisher as a coach and think that Vince Young is definitely being mentored by the right guy. The worst thing Vince Young can do is believe the hype. The best thing he's got going for him is the knowledge that he needs to get better. Leinart will be a stud as soon as the Cardinals get some offensive line.

The learning curve is way different for Leinart than it is for Young. For one Leinart has way better receivers and overall talent around him than Young does at this stage and Leinart plays in a very similar offense to the one he ran at SC. But it's Young's intangibles that make him so exciting. He has a never give up attitude which is a reflection of his coach and he is a much better athlete than almost any Quarterback in the league. Right now Leinart doesn't see much blitzing because defenses aren't afraid of him leaving the pocket as much as they are with Young. One thing that you must remember is that people will always praise a Quarterback that has the ability to bring their team back from behind. When you have a player that can accomplish a comeback, your team always knows that they have a chance to win any game under any circumstance. A never give up attitude is contagious, just like a team that a has a bad attitude is. There's a very fine line between the two and it's up to the coaches to ensure that their team stays in the positive frame of mind. It especially helps when the quarterback who is the overall leader of the team on the field is an example of that. Just like Vince Young.

I agree, it's way too early to praise him as a good QB. It shocked me to see he made Steve Young's list of top 5 Qbs this season.

Leinart will do fine in Arizona, soon as they get a better OL.

Vince is going to be way better than Mike Vick for the fact that he does look to throw the ball. He needs to become more consistent in the passing game than his 50-60% completion rating. He'll be a great one no doubt.

I think both are franchise QBs.

Young will be great. He has one of the best offensive minds in the game in Norm Chow, a man who has developed some smart quarterbacks over the years. Remember quarterbacks are made, not born. I don't know if Mack Brown (Texas) is the best coach when it comes to developing quarterbacks. Young was a solid passer in college and he seems to have decent control of his passes. He just needs to keep developing. Considering he is a rookie with extremely average receivers, the guy is doing a great job.
