How can I be on-line?

How can i be online on the computer. When I go to sign in in my yahoo answers their is a face sleeping. Does that mean i'm not online or i am.

it means you not. and i think that you just have to log on and then look at your picture.

if it doesn't change, then it doesn't reconginse that you're on.
and i don't know what to do in that situation.
