How long is it okay to have sankapul (double-lid) tape on?

I had my mom put on the sankapul tape yesterday, and the shape of it is alright, but my eyelids sting a little.

Is it alright to keep on the tape for another day?

For up to how long can I keep on sankapul tape on my eyes? And, any tips?
