I am a big fan of gift cards because they allow the person to pick out something they truly want or need. For my nieces and nephews in college, I will give gift cards to eating establishments because I know they can't afford to go out to eat very often while working their way through college. Such gifts have always gone over well in the past and are the types of gifts I like to receive myself. Since gift cards have been given in the past where you work, perhaps you could come up with a unique 'presentation.' Alternatively smoked meats or other savory snacks are always appropriate for employees.

Ask them what they would like. It's always more enjoyable to get a gift you can use, especially since an employer is showing appreciation for a year's worth of hard work. Put a list out of different options and have your employee's sign up for the option they would like, like gift cards to several different places; Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Victoria's Secret, etc. You could also give them the option of pooling the money and throwing a big Christmas Party just for them. Godd luck! I hope you find the answer to your Christmas dilema.

I say give them the cash. Let them get what they want to. I know that not many guys want gifts from Bath and Body Works. But if it has to be a gift gift, then why not a basket with cheese, crackers, wine and wine glasses? Or skip the cheese and crackers and add a cork screw and bottle stopper. Or an ice cream themed basket? Sprinkles, hot fudge, caramel topping, ice cream scoop, those funny looking banana shaped bowls.

Gift Certificates! Because it show's that you got them something and then they get to choose what they want from what you got them. So its kinda a two in one gift. No matter what the price range! I would go with the Blockbuster Gift Card.

Raises not roses. Next best, gift cards for pricey restaurants or upscale/fancy grocery stores.. No MacBurgers. Skip the stocking with trinkets, we have enough of those. I hope the company appreciates your interest. Good luck.

As an employee, I would rather have cash than gift cards and stockings filled with things I don't use.

Help them fund their Christmas dinner by giving them all an HEB gift card. My company has done this at Thanksgiving for the past couple of years and I, for one, have found it to be very practical and much appreciated. This year it was attached to a cute card that showed a blind farmer with an ax feeling around a flock of turkeys with his cane. All of the turkeys were going "Moo".

Chocolate wud be gud with xmas and candy cane...buy some lindor chocolate...Just curiousity...why do you want to spend $25 $40 anywaz...? Why dont you buy something exp for your room , family or maybe close friends / relatives?
I mean, end of the day its all up to you but ...think about it this way...if you spend $25 and you have minimum of 5 employes that's $125...thats a alot money...
