Playoff. The bowls have been and always will be a joke.
The majority of college football (Division I-AA, II, and III, which comprise well over 500 schools) have had playoff systems in place for years (16 teams in the I-AA playoffs, 24 in Division II, and 32 in Division III), so it's a travesty why Division I-A can't get its act together.

The mess that is called the BCS just shows why a playoff is needed. Take the top 8 teams and make them play. The BCS makes enough money as is so a playoff system won't hurt. Divison 1AA-Divison III and NAIA schools have a playoff and it works for them. Too much politics in big time college football.

Playoff is fair and better but they make more money in Bowl System.

playoff...definitely. although i wanted for Ohio State to play Florida in the nat'l championship game (just because i kno we can beat them) a playoff system would definitely reveal who the real deserving team is. we really need a playoff system...and fast. the BCS bowl system only causes controversy. i vote playoff!!!

I'm fine with the BCS. If we had a playoff system, I wouldn't be entertained by all the whiners whose teams didn't make the top two.

They should use a playoff system. It works for NCAA basketball. There's no reason it can't work for football.

I've answered this question many times recently. Here's what I copied and pasted from my other answers:
I wish BCS would end, and there's contreversies every year. Michigan got robbed, and they messed up my team, the Boston College Eagles, by putting them in the 6th best ACC bowl game, and they were the 3rd highest ranked ACC team!!! We were ranked higher than Georgia Tech, Clemson, and Maryland, but we're in a worse bowl game than them!
