Use a damp towel. Place the towel on the spot and iron on a medium setting with no steam. The wax will melt and adhere to the towel. Make sure you press firmly and use an all-cotton towel.

First, you need lots of paper towels or newspaper and an iron. Place the paper towel on the wax, then with the iron on low heat setting, use circular motions. As the wax melts from the heat, the paper towel will absorb it. You'll need to do this several times until the wax is gone. I've not tried the peanut butter thing with wax, but it does work great to get gum out of hair. Freezing the wax is best when it's on a glass candleholder, not really practical for a carpet/rug. Good luck!

Hi
There is two ways to remove wax from carpet.

1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting because most homes have polyester carpet, and if the iron gets too hot, it'll melt the carpet. Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the carpet.

2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the carpet at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. Keep on doing this until the wax is removed.

First pick out everything you can and vacuum well. Rub peanut butter into it and let stand for 30 minutes. Take a thick paper towel and blot, do not rub. Use another towel, (paper or terry), and lay it on the mess. Use your iron on low and run over it in a circular motion. You will go through a lot of towels and spend some time but it works. This works on gum and gummy bears too.

A hair dryer will work the best with an oil based candle. Put it on the hottest setting, but put the air flow on low. Blot with an absorbant towel throughout the process. It will work with a waxed based candle as well, but you may have some residue to deal with.

Wax is best removed by freezing it, then crumbling it out of the material. Im thinking the best way to freeze the wax, would be to use dry ice..If you cant find any, try just using ice in a bag...but the wax needs to be very cold for it to work.

Clean white cloth and an iron. Basically use the cloth like a sponge, heading the wax through the clean cloth with the iron.

Practice on a scrap.

i would not persist with any form of warmth to it or the wax will soften and unfold deeper into the rug! Freeze the wax with an ice cube or ice p.c... you additionally can use a commercial product that's designed to freeze wax on carpeting or upholstery. as quickly as the wax is frozen, use a clean, blunt merchandise to shatter the wax. right this moment p.c.. up or vacuum the products of wax from the section. in case you wait too long and the products soften, then you definitely will would desire to refreeze them.

rent a rug shampooer if you dont have one and start by breaking wax up and off the best you can then hit it repeatedly with hot water as hot as your sink will get it until it is all gone.... oil works for crayons (wax too) but i dont think i would try that unless you are depserate as it may create a bigger problem
