I'm not being sexist or anything, but you asked a question and I'm going to answer it how I think. Boys are overall better in math, but I think more girls are willing to try harder and study longer, possibly making them have a better grade. The boys are just better at the start, but possibly not as motivated to go the extra mile.

Statistically speaking, boys are much better at math than girls. But there is very little difference between sexes among the truly gifted.

Generally speaking, it's now about equal:

"Girl power

Girls:

Higher reading scores than boys
Have caught up to boys in math
Dominate extracurricular activities
Dominate college enrollments - 57%
Study more, make higher grades, graduate in less time

Boys:

Still more likely to take part in sports (63% vs. 49% of girls)
More likely to be in special ed (73% of all special ed students)
Four times more likely than girls to commit suicide
Continue to earn more than girls, but the gap is closing"
Jones Lang LaSalle and Harris Interactive 2005

What has been happening for many years, all over the world, is a "self-fulfilling prophecy":

False Belief:
Boys are naturally better at math and science than girls.

Action based on (false) belief:
Boys should be encouraged to do what boys are naturally good at, and girls should be encouraged to do what they are naturally good at.

Policy generated by (false) belief:
Schoolteachers devote more effort to encouraging boys in science and math than they devote to girls.

I guess this would nowadays be considered a sexist question, but I'm not a feminist of any sort. I'd say men were gifted biologically with a more logical side. They're more rational, while women have a hard time grasping the logical value of things. It's true. However, that's not to say that women are dumb at math, and there are plenty of female mathematical genuises out there!

boys i'm not sexist i'm basing this desicion on the fact that in my A-level maths class there are 3 girls to 8 boys, and in general the boys (at least some of them) seem to have greater natural mathmatics ability than girls

My experience when I was younger that the boys were better. But it seems that had something to do with the way they were raised because my granddaughter is a wiz in math!

Right now im taking math taks class cause i failed math and from my opinion is that there could be a possibility that men are better at math since theirs hardly any boys in there and mostly girls, i think its because they spent most of their time thinking about beauty and have their mind on other stuff.

There is no ALL TIME BEST, but its true that most boys are better in math, although the trending is changing every year and girls are starting to get better!

Ironically, the SAT was designed to help predict how students would do in college. But while boys still score higher on the tests, girls get better college grades.
