How old were you when you had your first child?

Do you wish you waited or do you wish you had your baby earlier?

My husband (together 5 years) and I are only now trying to conceive our first baby, if I got pregnant today I would be 24 when I gave birth. If it takes a long time to conceive then I will wish we started sooner.

What about you?

I've been with my husband for 10 years (married for 4) and we are expecting our first child in February. We were trying to conceive for 4 years before I became pregnant. I will be 32 when I give birth to our son. Of course, I feel like we should have started sooner, but who's to know how that would have turned out? If I would have started sooner and had a baby much sooner, I may have not been as ready as I am now. I feel everything happens for a reason and some things are just out of your control.

First I have to say 40 is not old!!! I had my baby when I was 22 and he is a year old now. I love him so much but there are many times that I wished I would have waited. Everyone is different and everyone has a different situation so it really comes down to you and how you feel deep down inside about starting your family. I don't think 24 is a bad age to start a family but don't obsess over getting pregnant. Sometimes you can obsess so much that it stresses you out and makes it harder to conceive. Good luck :)

I was 18 with my first and 19 with my second, I am glad I had them early because I decided I wanted another baby when I was 22, we tried to conceive for 3 years and when it finally happened it turned out to be an ectopoic, I have had 3 ectopics and 1 miscarriage since having my children and we don't know now if I can have a normal pregnancy. I believe everything happens for a reason and am very grateful for my kids :)

I'll be 21 when I deliver (due in April) I was about a month shy of 21 when we conceived. I'm happy with my age to have my first. Though my husband and I already agreed that we're waiting at least 4 years for the next one so I can be finished with college and set in my working ways.

I was 19 when I had my daughter. I wish I would have waited but I went off the pill because it was too strong, gave me headaches. If I would have stayed on the pill I wouldn't of gotten pregnant as soon as I did. I wouldn't change a thing about her though. I just wish she wasn't my ex husbands is all. Good Luck in Conceiving.

I was 19 when I conceived my first, I am 23 and 19 weeks pregnant with my second. I want to have all my kids (3) by time I am 26. I think anything past 30's is way too old. Plus you won't be able to do as much with your kids. Congrats and good luck.

I was 21 when I had my first child and 25 when I had my second. I was only going to have one, the second one was an oops, but we love her to death. We're so glad we had her, but if I had known we were going to do two, I would have done it a bit sooner. I could really tell the difference in the four years apart. Just getting down on the floor and playing was harder, and I got tired faster. Of course your taking care of two instead of one. I can't imagine how these mothers who are 40 and 50 are doing it. Good Luck, and enjoy! It will be the most rewarding experience of your life!

I was 27, and it was the perfect age for me, because I was a bit more mature and ready.

24 is great, and it does not take that long to conceive, just start making love 7-10 days after your period, and also buy a getting pregnant book, it helps.

Goodluck!
