Ignorance I think is what disgusts me the most since it's the seed to most problems and the trip to Mars I don't know. I kind of like it here. The whole no oxygen and no water thing kind of bums me out...:-)

I am disgusted by the death and murder that is going on in Darfur while at the same time some jerk is out buying some SUV or some other insanely priced item. People are dying around the globe by the millions. MILLIONS. Because they don't have water or food. IT IS SICKENING! And those same idiots support the war in Iraq because Sadam is such a pig. THERE ARE BIGGER FISH TO FRY PEOPLE. DARFUR!!! I can't stand a rich, uppity snob who thinks themselves harder working, more driven and basically deserving of wealth than a poor person. I also can't stand that rich guy who indulges him or herself in lavish crap while the guy across town is walking to work and supporting his family on minumum wage income. Money is the root of all evil! Hit me up when your space-ship leaves.

I'm like everyone else. It isn't the world that has gone crazy, it's us dumb@ss humans. If the mother earth could speak she would probably say, "Someone cure me of this virus called HUMOSAPIEN SIMPLEX-1(Humans), because no matter how I try, it keeps killing my immune system" We (not all of us) are destroying the very planet that supports us! Guys, this is the only planet we have right now, why don't we try to respect, protect, and revive the species we've already wiped out? If we colonized the universe it would do nothing but spread the disease of the human mind (hatred, prejudice, jealously, racism, intolerance, greed, lust, etc). Someone gave us this powerful brain for a reason, why don't we as people use it to protect our planet instead of learning better methods of human on human mass murder. (I'm so disappointed in the human race, myself included)

I agree, with everything you said. What disgusts me is that none of it is really new, just a rehash of the same old problems and hatreds. You think we'd all learn by now. At least something.
Going to Mars to start over then I'll go. Just watch who you bring, or it'll be the same thing all over again. It may still be there is just something in human nature. Who knows who our descendants will do and be like. Hopefully we can raise them right and avoid these problems.

well, the world has always been in a need for peace, and actually here in america, we have made progress, while things are not perfect,, they have improved a great deal during our short history,,,, and we must begin with ourselves, our persons, our familiy, our neighborhood, country etc, before we can promote peace in the world,,,,,,,as to mars, my daughter has this whole theory worked out,, if you go to mars now, and build factorys, the factories will cause polution, which will then cause an atmosphere to be made,,,, and finally mars would be able to be inhabited,,, but because of the difference in gravity,,,, slowly peoples bodies would morph,,,,, who knows what humans would eventually look like,,,,, of course , this whole process would take hundreds if not thousands of years, so i guess you would have to plan it for another lifetime

I guess you haven't studied much history...
We actually have quite a bit LESS war now than in most of the time of human history. During the Roman empire, for example, the lands held by Rome were under pretty much constant attack somewhere -- by the Germans and Goths in the North, by the Saxons in England, by the Franks in Gaul, by the Persians, Numidians, Carthagenians, Thracians, on and on. They would fight battles nearly all year every year someplace, with 30,000 - 100,000 dying at every battle. Similar histories exist for nearly every "empire" throughout history.

We're doing much better as humans than we used to when it comes to constantly fighting and killing each other. We still have a long way to go, but by studying history I am encouraged that we have learned a *little bit* :)

Wars aren't the only thing that is messed up. There are plenty of other things that are crazy and have nothing to do with war and peace.

As for the going to Mars thing, I don't think so. Winters here are cold enough.

The world has always been insane, I think, except that - now - with so many more people and cable news, we just hear more and more about it.

When you go to Mars, I would, gladly, go with you. Maybe it's more peaceful and quiet there....

The problem IS mankind. We use and abuse the planet, wipe out many species of plants and animals. Turn forests into deserts, and cause more havoc than anything else. We ARE the problem. Going to a different planet would just cause doom to that planet.

As religion has been the cause of more wars/conflicts than anything else, how about a new world order where there is only one religion or no religions allowed
