most people who are considered emo, do the things normal people do.
people who try to be emo, more gothic, cut their wrists and listen to whiny pop-punk music, for attention.

if they fit the sterotype they are people who constintly put themselves down in various ways. always talk about their feelings but not in the totallily corny way. they cut themselves to make scars so that when they "accidently" wear short sleeve shirts people will talk about how much they love them and don't want them to die. and the some times express themselves in poetry, song lyrics, and phrases (such as ones written on shirts). they also cut their hair really short (for girls) or they grow their hair out really long (for guys).

Wear black, hang out at the mall, write bad poety, and endlessly complain that no-one understands them.
