Tina Joy is nuts. The area is not ritzy, but it is not dangerous. It is a middle class white neighborhood.
EDIT: This isn't the Robert Taylor homes, I believe the address is in Hickory Hills. According to Zillow the average home price in Hickory Hills is $266K. As I said, not ritzy but not ghetto either.

While I do not know the specific apartments, I am familiar with the area.
Should be fine. The previous poster is overstating the situation.

Make sure you carry a bullet-proof vest and a hand gun with you at all times in that area.
Anywhere in the South side should be proceeded with caution...
