I have been a loyal SAAB driver since I first got my drivers license. Now that they've been bought out, I no longer care for them. :(

I want something in the made between 98-2003, fuel efficient, good in snow, dependable, and cool. (If the words SUV, minivan, or mom mobile are used to describe the car, I DON'T want it)

So...give me some suggestions. :D

GAG,
stay away from subaru wagons with Yakima carriers ontop.
Here in Anchorage if there is someone driving 20 in a 45 zone or sitting at a green light waiting for it to change a different shade before proceeding it is 9 times out of 10 a subaru wagon with a yakima carrier.

Get a Lotus Esprit Turbo. Mid 90's. You can get them on Ebay for around 28,000.

Then don't let your kids ride in it.

Hi, B!

I just saw this answer to come up on a show about the safest models of the '07s, but maybe this link will work.

I drive a 2000 Mercury Marquis. It has great gas mileage (I average 23 mpgs intown driving, and 30 highway.) It also seems to have more storage space than my mom's mini-van; a friend referred to it as a six body trunk. ;^) ) It is also very safe due to it's an A-frame, or something like that; not supposed to crumple.

The only downers I have about it is that it has ABS which I hate. It also is a rear wheel drive, but it does have an excellent tracking system.

Hope this helps.

Here in Alaska the Subaru Foresters & Legacys are very popular. They are also rated highly for dependability & fuel economy. As for snow, we do more than our share!! HA HA...
I personally own a 2006 Toyota Rav 4 that I really like.

Check out the Subaru models on line....

Cool is an adjective that will change from person to person. But since you find Saabs cool, you might want to check the Subarus. They are good on fuel, dependable, and gooood on snow.

Their engine (opposed 4) is quite good and cool.

Get a Subaru Impreza. They're great in the snow with proper tyres, get good fuel economy considering they're all wheel drive, and they're dependable and cool. Extra cool factor points if you get the WRX with the air intake in the bonnet and the wing on the boot!

Any toyota, subaru or honda as long as it is a stick shift which makes the winters easier to drive in.....definitely better control with a stick over auto.

Lexus all the way. Very safe, extremely reliable, and very conservative when it comes to emissions. Not to mention they are classy, attractive and fun to drive.

I live in Phoenix, so I wouldn't know about snow, but i *hear* they have terrific traction in rain, ice and snow.

If you want sporty - IS
Entry level sedan - ES
Big dog sedan - LS
