Advent is a period of time, actually 4 weeks, to prepare for Christmas. It is celebrated by lighting four candles. Advent this year started on December 3rd, Sunday. The first candle of the four was lit. Then you light 2 out of the four on the 10th, 3out of the four on the 17th, and all four on the 24th. It a Christian way to celebrate the coming of Chirst, and remember him for being born on Christmas Day. Our candles sit in an Advent Wreath in the middle of the dinning table, and is lit at dinner time.
