US falls behind many industrialized countries because of a high percentage of the population living below the poverty level. And those poor live with inadequate health care. Although the health care and crime makes, your quality of life ranking low, it is the poverty that effects standard of living.

Norway, has a small population benefiting from huge oil deposits in the North Sea. US doesn't share when it comes to things like oil profits.

Better health care for everyone, lower infant mortality rate, higher per capita income. Six weeks of vacation for starts. If you are umemployed you are well supported. Maternity leave is at least one year; Norwegians are some of the wealthiest people on Earth
