Go to gifts.com and click on the shop by personality link. It'll ask you a few questions and then give you suggestions. Some of the suggestions are pretty expensive so at least you can use them as ideas instead of buying that exact brand. If you think it didn't pick the correct personality, you can view all personality types. you can also see suggestions based on what you know the little boy likes to do or is interested in. That's on the home page under "Shop by Recipients and their interests." Just go there and start exploring! I love this site
and whoever said get him the Wii - that's a good idea too. It comes with sports games like baseball, bowling, tennis, and boxing and also Zelda. You can also take pictures with a digital camera and load them directly into the Wii. this lets you make the picture into puzzles and solve them or just play around digitally with the pictures. It's a lot of fun and Nintendo is known for most of their games being blood and gore free. This is a really family friendly and get-together game.

A radio controlled vehicle is a fun item. There are these construction toys made with magnets that are very fun and stimulating. Check out the links below and no I do not have any interest in any of these products.

I think you should get your five year old boy the new Wii Nintendo game console that is out. Nintendo has many games out that are meant for his age. Its only $250, which is cheap considering what the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 go for.

my boys at 5 liked something called a "Transformer". don't know if they still make them. it's a robot that transforms into a dinosaur of sorts. it's large, relatively inexpensive, and can keep 'em occupied for days.

A train that he can actually ride on. That is what my cousin is getting. He would really enjoy it. You can try to find different prices on them.
