The best thing to do is to use the mfr's restore disk(s.) The process will restore all of the software and settings to the status of when you bought the hardware. Make sure you have the install disks for anything you want to install/re-install. If it's a downloaded program, make sure you back up the installation file first (you should really back up everything first, but I'm lazy and don't really have anything that important on my pc.)
If you don't have the restore disk, you will at least need the operating system disk(s.) You might try the mfrs. web site to see if the restore application can be downloaded first.

You need to have the system CD and back up all your files or documents to CDs or DVDs. After that, insert the system CD on the CD tray and reboot the computer from the CD. When it asks you if you wish to reformat the hard drive, choose yes.

Make sure having all passwords....
IF you have not done it before, I suggest don't do it!

Open my computer and right click on it, select format and folow the instructions.
Just remember, formating deystroys ALL, and usually the data can't be recovered.

Well, the one most important thing i learned when they (brothers) had to reformat my PC is to back all my stuff up i want to keep. You lose it all so make sure if you have things you want to keep to do that now.
