You don't need to worry yet! You have a month until it would even be healthy for your baby to be born, seven weeks until your due date! It might happen, and it's pretty tedious when it does, but it's not the end of the world. 40 weeks is only an average length and a good many babies come after this.

Most women do, I have three childen The first was born 40 weeks the other two were a week and a half late. I you go over you due date doctor will determine the size of you baby and give you non stress test to make sure everything is ok.

Why are you worried? It happens all the time. It happened to both my births and everything worked out fine. There are lots of scare stories about being induced and I'm sure there are some women who do have a terrible time but that is childbirth. I was induced both times and had no problems at all. Every woman is different so don't stress that it will be bad.

Don't worry, I have 4 children and they were all overdue and all inducded labours! They won't let you go any more than 11 days in accordance with the NICE guidelines for clinical excellence. Don't take any excuses if you do go overdue about there being no beds.....you are intitled to be induced at 11 days post term....believe me, I have been there 4 times!

Don't worry 40 weeks is only an estimate anyway. The baby will arrive when it's ready and extra few days to prepare and rest are a positive benefit, trust me.
Congratulations and good luck

I don't see why you would worry about going over your due date. You should be concerned about nothing, if anything worrying not making it to 37 weeks being you are a month away.
the doctors DO know what they are doing. Trust your doctor. It is ok to go over up to 2 weeks, most doctors only allow 1. Your doctor will induce labor if needed.

If this is your first then don't be surprised if you do go passed your due date, it happen many first time mothers. The best thing you can do is relax and enjoy your time now before baby comes because you won't have much time to when he/she does arrive. Have plenty of soaks in the bath and pamper yourself a bit. Don't stress out, baby will come when he/she is good and ready! Good luck!

What are you worried about, sometimes the doctors can get your dates wrong, and if the baby isnt ready it aint coming...
I went 6 days over with my first and 10 days with my second, there was nothing wrong with the babies, just frustrating, because I couldnt wait to meet them
no worries love xx

The hospital wont let you go too far over your due date. Because of not knowing exactly when conception takes place due dates are not set in stone. The midwife should keep an eye on things so don't worry

Don't worry. Talk to your OB, ours was willing to schedule an inducement right around the due date. It was as textbook as it gets, no surprises. It was so much easier than our first. My wife was admitted at 7 am, started the IV's and pitocin, bag of waters broken at 9 am, epidural by 10 am and our son was born by 11 am. I don't think all doctors are willing to do this but my wife's OB's are all women and all had inducements themselves and found it very "convenient" to do it this way.
