Can you burn a flag outside that country???
Yes

Is that wrong?
It is stupid. Bands with no talent turn up the volume. Chefs with no talent throw in a handful of chili peppers. Political groups with no reason behind their arguments burn flags. It is the political equivalent of holding your breath until you turn blue.

You don't specify if you're a Yank or not.
Most countries don't actually have laws against burning their own - or any other countriy's - flag. (Curious that "the Land of the Free" felt it necessary to be one of the few that does! - And you can't make underpants of or simulating the 'Stars and Stripes', either, did you know that?)
So, without checking local laws, you could be pretty safe. (Look at all the 'non-violent' Muslims burning "Old Glory" at their protests/riots held to show they are peaceful!)
But I feel it's wrong to do it to any country's flag, your own especially.
Symbolically the flag represents the entire country. Burning/defacing it = destroying the whole country, not just the leaders or the party or the political system in power. If it's that of your own country, you're rejecting your home, parents, friends, etc, as well. If it's another country, as I said, it's destroying all of it.
Like a nuclear bomb, in a symbolic way. Drop one on Washington (just to pick a capital city, not from, too much, real desire!). Once the blast has wiped out the White House and Capitol, you can't stop it from wiping out the poor, the widows and those of your religion or political views in the DC area, can you?
You burn the flag - you're including all the people in France (the 'Tricoleur'), the UK (the 'Union Jack') or the US, and the history and the culture.
If you must make a childish gesture, burn an effigy of Chirac, Blair, Dubya (or the Pope), the person you've got the real gripe with, not the entire nation!

YOU (the asker) could probably burn a flag anywhere you want to. All that would prove is that you had a point to make OR an axe to grind with the country of the flag you burned. In the US, it IS legal to burn the flag in a ceremonial way to dispose of it when it is in disrepair or it has been soiled. In the 60's I did my share of flag burning & all it did was anger people to the point of wanting to kill us for mocking all their years of hard work & struggles to keep America free. We had the freedom to burn the flag & we also had the freedom to senselessly make ourselves targets of hatred & mistrust by the bulk of the population that viewed us as "unamerican"! Those of us who survived attacks by the National Guard & local Police are stronger & better citizens because we live in a country that may not like what we did, but they didn't put us in jail forever or cut off our arms for destroying those flags. We caused our own pain by testing the "system". You also have those same freedoms at your disposal. Just as long as your acts do not endanger others, you are free to explore the possibilities & enjoy the consequences that go along with them if you cross the line & get caught!

Try burning an Islamic flag in the US (or anywhere else) and see what happens to you!

Try it with any flag with the moon and star on it where you get new coverage.

That will be a lesson in freedom and tolerance!

Sure you can, but that doesn't make it right.

Americans - good ones who deserve to live here anyway, would never do such a thing no matter what country they were in because they respect and love their country.

I think that it is very unethical to burn a flag of your home country, no matter where you are or where you are from.

For the U.S. flag, here is the official info link, http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode04/usc_sup_01_4_10_1.html

From the code, Title 4, section 8, subsection k:

(k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

Depends on the country where you burn it -- for example, if you burn an Indian, or Iraqi, or Zimbabwean, or US flag in England, the law of England will determine if it is legal. If you burn those flags in the US, US law determines if it is legal, and, currently, it is legal, as long as you aren't breaking other laws (such as blocking traffic, etc.)

You have to have pride in your country and I have pride in the United States, maybe things could be improved here, but no place is perfect, but all I know, I am an American and proud of it. If you are not proud of your country, then wrap yourself in your flag and set it a blaze.

If you are a true American then burning the American flag is wrong. If you are not a true American get the Hell out of here.
