As I recall it is "yo' mama," not "Your mom." No, it isn't the hallmark of intelligence; that is not until after you've added a nice "Bi-atch" at the end. Then you are freaking Sophocles or Shakespeare.

Me: "Your Mom!"

More than likely, the officer would be so dizzied by my intelect, he would ride his bike back to the station in shame.
