I recently purchased a new Kenmore range with a ceramic cook top. The range itself is bisque colored and apparently the cook top now only comes in bisque even though the website for Sears shows a black ceramic cook top. Our last range was also in bisque but with a black cook top.

After the first couple of uses, I noticed a brown stain that seems like it was baked into the cook top. Nothing spilled over from the pot, but when it was taken off the stove, there was the stain. I tried the scrub pad that came with the oven with some soap and water, but the stain doesn't appear to be on the surface. I'm ready to have Sears come in and take back the oven. Its only 2 weeks old. Any comments would be appreciated.

Try the product named Ceramabrite. I bought some at Home Depot the other day and have seen it other places. It usually comes with a little yellow scrubber pad. Get the big chunks off by using a flat razor blade, then polish with ceramabrite.

There is an actual flat stove-top cleaner out there. It came with mine. I don't know where to get it, but I am sure it would be in the cleaning isle or look online maybe.

I bought a product called "Awesome" at Family Dollar store. It was only two dollars and let me tell you it cleans everything. Follow the dilution instructions if you want to but for my countertops, fridge, and stove...I use it full strength. It's AWESOME!!! Good Luck.

I have the same problem. I wipe it with water and baking soda.
