I am 17. I babysit Monday nights for a family I know. Mondays and Wednesday days my mom watches the kids because it's her day off and she wanted to. She quit babysitting and now I lost my job on monday nights because she quit. My job lasts until two weeks from now, it ended then. Does my mom owe me the money for the next to weeks because I never planned on quitting my job and my mom quitting lost me the job?

It's not like I only make 10 bucks a night either. They have five kids (all are 7) so they behave fine and listen. I make 5 dollars and hour per kid. I babysit from 2pm-9pm so I make 245$

no sweetie, your mom was helping you out, not to mention she puts a roof over your head, feeds you, and SHE IS YOUR MOM! She doesnt owe you anything. Besides, when one door closes, another opens. if you like making money and working with kids, many hospitals are looking for pediatric CNAs. A CNA is Certified Nursing Assistant. Usually they will train you. You take vitals and whatnot, and with kids, you are oftn the ones that they interact with the most.
Of course there is after school tutoring programs, aswell as Big Daycares where you can work. **** Happens, and you just have to keep going. Think of it as a life lesson : roll with the punches and have a plan B

Didn't hiring a lawyer to write a contract cost more than you were making? And what in the world do these people do that they can afford $245.00 a night for a 17 year old babysitter? They could hire a trained professional nanny for that kind of money. Maybe that's why they fired you.
As a 17 year old who can afford to live on her own in Laguna Peak, do you really need the money anyway?

No. She's your Mom. She doesn't owe you anything except food, clothes, and shelter. If the person you babysat for had to make other arrangements because your Mom quit, then she is entitled to terminate your employment at any time. That is part of working. Unexpected things happen as a result of others. You aren't entitled to money because of soemthing different that happened.

No. Your mom owes you nothing. You didn't have a contract with her, even though you say you did, we all know you didn't.
So I suggest finding a real job if you need/want the money.
On top of that, your profile says you're 24 and your question states you're 17, which leads me to seriously doubt whether any of the facets of your story are true.

If you still live with her i would say she owes you the money for the day she quit and she should help you get another job but if you live by yourself then thats a different story.

Yes she does. However, start computing every dollar she has ever spent on you for food, clothing, shelter, medicine, etc. Then tack on the expense of you even being born, not to mention the pain she went through to have you. Time to grow up, missy. Your mom doesn't owe you $hit - you owe her.

Ouch!! Why did you lose your job? Can't you gain two more nights?
But NO your Mother owes you no money. They apparently didn't want to use you if your Mom didn't work there. Not her fault.
