because there is greater difference in income and education as well. I think that if the government gave more money for educating poor where more people had option of higher learning and thus a potential for earning more it would help a great deal. I don't think it should be racial though just income as there are still poor uneducated whites too. Just not as many. We also need to help more of our working poor with health care. It is like the working poor are penalized for doing the right thing and working and then not being eligable for lower cost health care insurance.
The government could also give companies who helped more with working poor to get health care coverage tax breaks.

Another thing that would help is decriminalizing recreational drug use. Don't get me wrong I'm not wanting it to party but if they did that poor people would not turn to drugs and gangs and make criminals out of inner city poor kids. Also it wouldn't be as easy for kids to get if controled by the government. It was because of prohibition of alcohol that organized crime has such a leg up in america. We should stop inacting laws that protect ourselves from ourselves. In Amsterdam, where drug use is decriminalized, the average drug addict age is a lot older than here. People should only be labled criminal when it involves a victim. I say there would be less children addicts this way and we all know we are better able to make decisions once we are 21 years old as opposed to 14 or so.

What is YOUR source that there are GREATER health disparities among black people? What would cause you to come to that conclusion without medical data to support such a biased question?
