I recently had and interveiw with cvs pharmacy and the district supervisor basically hired me on the spot and naturally i had to do a drug test and have a background check on me. now i know that i passed my drug test however i have not received a call or a letter denying me employment for about 2 weeks now. however the background check was put in two days before thanksgiving, does anyone know what might be going on, why is it takeing so long for a final answer.? Thank you.

Call the pharmacy and ask.
First thank them for giving you the opportunity for an interview (if you haven't already. That call should have been made 2 days after the interview) and see if there are any other questions they may have for you.
Then simply state, "I'm really excited for the opportunity to work for your company, any idea when a decision will be made?"

it depends on how extensive of a backround check they are doing....my husbands took over a month for a state trooper and where your handeling a lot of drugs i would think it would be just as extensive. I would give it a couple more days and if still no news i would call and do a thank you for the interview, and ask in a professional manner if the position has been filled or if they are still looking???

Good luck i hope this helps!

background checks vary form state to state and by company. depending on the nature of the job and the security of the company some checks are only one week and some can go up to a month.

you should call someone to check on that

I've got a buddy who works at the pharmacy at WalMart and his background check got all screwed up and was lost for like 4 weeks...so def check it out

I would give them a call (possibly during off hours when you could leave a message) just to let them know that you are still interested and to give you a call if they are also. It could be any number of things, so I'd just call to check.

Perhaps the final answer is on someone's desk and they just need a follow up call from you to jumpstart them.
