at that price who would be using Gas?? First of all companies would have to pay the employee's so much more just to get them to work --even if carpooling was the answer and its a good one to use now it still would be way to expensive for those that commute over an hour one way to work how far does a tank of gas take a person anyway?? Not too far and at 200.00 a tank (that's just a ten gal tank) who is going to pay that??
People would have to go electric or methane--by the way its a cleaner and very easy gas to make --the dumps/landfills just burn it off as we speak

It is an unrealistic number but alternitive methods one then be affordable in comparison
A 20.00 price per gallon (assuming road taxes or VAT are not the source of it) would mean oil would be worth an insane amount per barrel well over 300 barrel. We would drill everywhere and harvest even the worst shale coal.
In the long run , alternitive sources would be used or the industrial world (espcially those areas in cold regions) would shut down.

They would introduce an alternative to using gasoline, it would be a neccessity, the only reason it is not popular right now is because gas is still cheaper than alternatives.

I think the economy would be devastated, most people need their cars to get to work.
