Perfectly normal! While you were pregnant you didn't lose much hair but with the change in hormones, you'll notice lots coming out. Don't worry, it'll stop before you go bald!!
There isn't anything you can do about it unless you're ready to get pregnant again!!
Congrats and I hope you get some sleep! Try a swing, both of my kids LOVED the swing for sleeping.

As everyone has pretty much said - it's all normal and it's related to your hormones changing after giving birth. If you're not still taking prenatal vitamins, keep those up and it shouldn't fall out as much.
As for sleeping, remember the rule: Sleep when the baby sleeps! If you're staying home with the baby: every single time the baby takes a nap, Mom should take one, too. You're expending a ton of energy right now and catching up on your sleep is necessary! Good luck and rest well!

It's totally normal!!! Your hormones are still a bit wacky after all that stuff it has been through. Yes, it happened to me too. You are fine. Mention it to your doctor at your next visit though, just to be sure. As for the lack of sleep?? It gets better eventually. Do you have a swing or a bouncy chair? Baby Einstein videos were a BIG help in our world. Good luck!!

It's normal to shed up to 100 hairs a day. Try taking biotin. It is a natural herb, and promotes hair growth.
You could also be experiencing a hormonal imbalance. Check with your doctor to see if you are.

This can be a sign of low iron. Other signs include feeling tired all the time (I know--that's like every new mom, right?) and brittle finger nails (break easily). Somewhat less common symptoms include headaches, dizziness (not necessarily constant), pale skin and shortness of breath. If this sounds like you, make sure to continue taking your prenatal vitamins (they have more iron than regular vitamins) and eat lots of foods high in iron (broccoli, red meat...etc).
Good luck and God bless!

after i had my son my hair fell out so much i thought i was going to become bald. it fell out in handfuls in the shower no lie. i actually noticed my hair thinning but it wasn't too bad. it's because when you are prego your hormones keep your hair from falling out at all, so after you give birth your body has to catch up with 9 months of hair shedding.

its actually from the hormones leaving your system. I never had thinckening of hair (Was thick already) my I had the most beautiful nails. THAT WOULD GROW AND GROW. Never split. Around 6 month was when they started to split.
Its part of nature sweetie

When your pregnant you lose minimal amount of hair, so once you had the baby and your hormone start to return to normal it's like you r shedding all the extra hair, blame it on hormones.
