I'm getting boots for my bf and dont want him to know, but I dont know what size to get. He wears 10.5-11 in regular shoes. What does that translate to in Burton boots? I would prefer the answer be specific to Burton because I know some brands run different than others.

And I appologize if this is a re-post I didnt see the question get listed.

And I would say get him 10's. Burton boots are notorious for stretching out at least half a size. A boot that fits perfectly when it is new is too big. When in doubt, go with a smaller size....especially if he rides a lot. There is nothing worse than a too big boot that your feet swim in.

That said, be sure to get his boots at a shop that will let him take them back if they don't fit properly. All boots fit differently and just because they are the right size doesn't mean they'll fit him right.

Good luck and good present choice

EDIT: Burton just concerned about their image, HA!

Vans is the most corporate shoe boot company around, Salomon is owned by Atomic. Burton has, in my opinion, the best performing equipment around....and I've been around for awhile. Burton is the biggest and is therefore the biggest target but people really should get their info straight before they start talkin' trash. Vans is the WORST boot company ever, I would never buy or recommend them to anyone.

I work in a snowboard shop and the best advice I can offer is to bring him in one day and surprise him that way. Boots are the one thing that the person themselves has to decide on, and this cannot even be determined by just reading up on them and deciding what ones look good or what ones sound techy enough. Sorry to disappoint you, but you should really bring him in to get him properly sized up. HOWEVER, if you reeeeeally don't want to do that and just want to buy in hopes that it fits his foot well enough, you typically buy boots anywhere from a 1/2 or even a full size smaller than your regular shoe size, especially with Burtons (they make some of the chunkiest boots in the industry, next to DC's.) I'd suggest steering away from Burton, since they're more concerned with their marketing schemes and making money than producing good product, and I'd suggest taking a look at Salomons, Vans, or 32 boots. Hope this helps.
